# First Install

🎉 Congratulations on choosing **AdvancedModels**, the ultimate vanilla models plugin for Minecraft! We're thrilled to have you in our growing community. If you need any help with installation or have questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to us on [Discord](https://discord.gg/advancedplugins) – we're here to support you every step of the way!

### Step 1 - Installing the plugin

Stop your server.

Make sure your server version is supported. We recommend using **PaperMC** due to their enhanced performance and optimizations.

Place the **AdvancedModels.jar** plugin file into your `server/plugins/` folder.

Start your server.

### Step 2 - Install Default Models

Download and install default models pack from here: <https://advancedplugins.net/item/Default-Models-Pack.196>\
Drag and drop contents of this pack into `plugins/AdvancedModels/`folder!\
Now, restart your server.

### Step 3 - Adding Models (Optional)

Once your server is running, you can begin adding custom models. Plugin comes already preinstalled with over 29 customisable models! \
To create your own, read the [Starter Guide](/models-and-guides/starter-guide.md)

### Step 4 - Using Models

To use models in-game, use the `/am spawn <model>` command. Make sure the model has been properly added and configured, then spawn it in your world!

For example: `/am spawn chair`, or to give models you can follow this guide: [Commands & Permissions](/usage/commands-and-permissions.md#give-models-with-colors)

And that’s it! You've successfully installed **AdvancedModels** and can now enjoy custom models on your Minecraft server.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://models.advancedplugins.net/first-install.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
